ScoutStuff.org conducted a soft launch on Tuesday, February 12 for the 2013 National Jamboree merchandise catalog.

Most of that merchandise will be for sale to the general membership. A small set of jamboree merchandise will be restricted and limited for sale to jamboree attendees. Most of the items being restricted are emblems.

Restricted products will appear in one of two online catalogs accessed through ScoutStuff.org. To view and purchase these goods, a user must have a ScoutStuff account and add a pair of valid IDs to his or her account.

Go to the “Create an Account” page of ScoutStuff to create an account: www.scoutstuff.org/customer/account/create

Once the account has been created or if a user already has an account and logs in to the site, go to the “Account Information” page (www.scoutstuff.org/customer/account/edit) to add the BSA member ID and corresponding jamboree registration ID.

Both IDs can be found on the back of the print mailer sent to every jamboree registrant. The mailers started arriving at homes the week of February 11. Those IDs can also be found in an email sent to all jamboree registrants on February 11. The latest list of registrants is attached to this email. Starting this week, the jamboree team will be emailing an updated registration list to the Ecommerce group. We will be making that list available to the Supply Customer Service team, the Supply Help Desk, and the National Help Desk. The latest list of jamboree registrants with the corresponding IDs is attached to this email.

Once validated, the IDs cannot be used again. The IDs are not tied to an individual’s name or email address until they are entered into the necessary account fields on ScoutStuff.org.

The list should be used to confirm whether a person has access to one of the two restricted catalogs called “Jamboree Exclusive” and “Jamboree Staff.” Only those attending the jamboree can buy merchandise from these restricted catalogs.

Those two restricted catalogs will appear in the “Select a Catalog” pull-down menu found on every page of ScoutStuff.org in the upper-right section of the site.

A user only needs to enter those two valid IDs once into their ScoutStuff.org account in order to gain access. Because these are restricted catalogs, the user must be logged in to view them. A person registered for the 2013 National Jamboree will not see these catalogs unless he or she has a ScoutStuff.org account, has validated his or her matching pair of IDs, and is logged into the site.

On Tuesday, February 19, we will be sending an email to our ScoutStuff mailing list of about 240,000 email addresses as well as the jamboree list of about 27,000 email addresses announcing the catalog is officially open for business.

Most jamboree merchandise will be available for purchase by the general BSA membership and can be found by going to the regular BSA retail catalog and clicking on the category marked “Jamboree” on the green navigation bar towards the top of every page on ScoutStuff.org.

The restricted catalogs will remain open until late June 2013, when they will be closed down so that unsold merchandise can be shipped to the Summit site for sale at one of the Supply Jamboree Trading Posts.

It has yet to be determined what will happen to any unsold jamboree merchandise after the event is over.
